Cristi began her journey in healing in 2000 with the internal meditative practices of tai chi and qigong. She holds a Master’s Degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from the New England School of Acupuncture with training in Chinese and Japanese styles of Acupuncture, and Chinese Herbal Medicine. She is licensed to practice Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine by the Maine Board of Complementary Health Care Providers. Cristi is nationally board certified in both Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine by the NCCAOM (National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine).

Cristi supplemented her Masters level education with a 5-level, 1.5 year certification in Craniosacral Therapy, a post-graduate internship with a Chinese medical doctor focusing on Chinese Herbal Medicine, and traveled to study in China. She visited the Zhejiang Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine to study Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine in the Gynecology, Pediatric, Internal Medicine, and Bi Syndrome (arthritis/auto-immune disease) departments.

Prior to becoming an acupuncturist, Cristi worked in the mental health field. Her work experience includes children with behavioral and emotional disorders and women with eating disorders.

In addition to treating patients, Cristi is an active proponent of the complementary medicine she practices. She currently serves as Treasurer of the Maine Acupuncture Society. Cristi volunteered acupuncture services in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina then became a founding board member of Acupuncturists Without Borders, an organization that is dedicated to providing free acupuncture for trauma recovery nationally and internationally. Cristi teaches for Community Education programs, presents at Health Fairs, and does guest lectures at schools, medical facilities and businesses. Cristi enjoys living and playing in the mountains, lakes, and rivers of western Maine with her husband, two boys, their dog Louis, and Tallulah the cat.
